A victory for refugees: International Center of Kentucky's groundbreaking expansion – WNKY News 40 Television

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – It’s a day of jubilation in Bowling Green, as city and county leaders join our refugee population to celebrate the long-awaited new addition to the International Center of Kentucky.

The center celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony today, which will enable it to provide essential digital literacy training for refugees.

With this expansion, refugees will gain valuable skills and open up new opportunities for themselves.

The center will also partner with local employers to provide job-specific skills training. This will enable refugees to flourish in their careers and contribute to their new communities.

International Center of Kentucky Executive Director Albert Mbanfu said, “Today’s a big day. We at the International Center are happy that in due time, we will provide them an opportunity to walk into a room, sit comfortably with the computers in front of them, and to learn how to use them to develop their skills and get better jobs in the community.”

The International Center says they hope to see the community back at this new expansion in the next six months for an official ribbon-cutting ceremony.
