Marcell Ozuna is becoming an expensive problem for the Braves to have.
Playing out a four-year contract for the Atlanta Braves is becoming an issue for Marcell Ozuna.
The 32-year-old has struggled mightily both at the plate and in the field in each of the past two years for the Braves and is starting to become an eyesore for the club.
A corner outfielder by trade, Ozuna has been horrendous in the field and is essentially to be viewed as strictly a designated hitter moving forward, especially with the strong defense the Braves have already assembled on the grass.
Braves: Who is Marcell Ozuna stealing playing time from?
INF/OF Eli White
White, 28, is a super-utility option who can play above-average defense at any position on the diamond. He doesn’t have the strongest bat but his defense makes up for that.
Last season, he played in 47 games at the big league level for the Texas Rangers, hitting three home runs with 10 RBI, stealing 12 bases along the way as well. His speed on the bases furthers his value to this Braves club.
