BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Kentucky State Police would like to remind the public they will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints in the local area.

This includes Post 3’s coverage of Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Simpson and Warren counties.

During these checkpoints, police say they will saturate known problematic areas. Police say the purpose of these checkpoints is to promote safety on the road and to discourage law violation.

The intent of a traffic safety checkpoint is to provide for a high visibility, public safety service, focusing on operator impairment, vehicular equipment deficiencies (confirming appropriate registration and insurance of vehicles) and the valid licensing of drivers. Other violations may also be addressed.
