We’re back with more NHL picks for Tuesday night’s slate, and I’m ready to get hot.
We’re approaching the final month of the regular season, so it’s time to strap in and start hitting some picks.
I have three bets for tonight. Let’s dive into them.
NHL best bets record season-to-date
- 195-176-4 (+5.04 units)
NHL best bets today
- Devils -130 vs. Maple Leafs
- Flames/Wild UNDER 6 (-120)
- Blues/Coyotes UNDER 6.5 (-110)
Devils -130 vs. Maple Leafs
The Maple Leafs are spiraling, so it’s time to bet against them. Ryan O’Reilly and John Tavares are out for the Maple Leafs, and they may sit until the postseason with Toronto all but locked into the No. 2 seed in the Atlantic Division.
Toronto is playing subpar hockey regardless of its lineup, ranking 15th in 5-on-5 score and venue adjusted CORSI%, which measures all types of shot attempts, over their last 10 games.
Meanwhile, the Devils have a ton to play for, only two points back from the top spot in the Metro. They’re fourth in the aforementioned stat and continue to play at an elite level. I love them as small favorites at home tonight against the Leafs.
Flames/Wild UNDER 6 (-120)
The Flames and the Wild have been two of the worst shooting teams over their last 10 games. They rank 29th and 32nd in shooting percentage over that stretch. The Flames have scored on only 7.46% of their shots on goal while the Wild have only scored on 6.48% of their shots on goal.
Both teams also rank inside the top 10 in 5-on-5 score and venue adjusted expected goals against, which shows strong defensive play over their last 10 games.
Give me the UNDER in this one tonight.
Blues/Coyotes UNDER 6.5 (-110)
I’m going to take another UNDER bet when the St. Louis Blues take on the Arizona Coyotes.
The Blues have been the worst offensive team in the NHL over their last 10 games, with a 5-on-5 score and venue adjusted expected goals per 60 minutes of just 1.99, which ranks last in the league.
The Coyotes haven’t been much better in that area, ranking 29th in the aforementioned stat.
The two teams are also scoring an average combined 5.61 goals per 60 minutes of play, so I feel comfortable taking the UNDER tonight.
Odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
